MATC is a volunteer nonprofit corporation that manages and mainatins 267 miles of the Appalachian Trail in Maine, its facilities and corridor. Anyone is welcome to come out on trail work projects with the club or its Maine Trail Crew
MATC brings together people from all aspects of life, uniting common interests in the outdoors and a profound love of the Appalachian Trail. Lasting friendships and new-found skills abound amongst MATC members.
MATC worktrips usually take place on weekends and may involve overnight camping at or near the worksite. Volunter opportunities abound in the club. Whether it be trail or site maintenance, committee work or clerical work, come out and enjoy Maine’s spectacular scenery and make a positive, lasting contribution to the Appalachian Trail.
