The MetroWest YMCA is a not-for-profit, 501(C)(3) charitable organization established in 1960. Operational funds are derived through the generous donations of area businesses, corporations and individuals as well as through YMCA programs and membership fees, United Way support and fund raising activities. More than 15,000 families and individuals participate in programs and services offered by the MetroWest YMCA within the towns of Framingham, Natick, Hopkinton, Holliston, Ashland, Sudbury, Wayland, Sherborn, Southboro, Millis, Milford and surrounding towns.The MetroWest YMCA operates a main Branch in Framingham, MA and an Outdoor Center in Hopkinton, MA. The Outdoor Center is located just 20 miles west of Boston, Massachusetts and 35 miles north of Providence, Rhode Island. It is situated on 116 acres of land abutting the the Ashland Reservoir and support several healthy ecosystems including white pine forests, hardwood forests, a small freshwater stream, and a protected wetlands area. These natural resources are carefully used and explored in our outdoor and environmental study experiences. The Family Outdoor Center facilities include two outdoor swimming pools; athletic fields and courts for archery, basketball, soccer, street hockey, volleyball and more; canoeing, kayaking, and fishing on the Reservoir; nature trails and campsites; lodges and pavilions; and one of the largest team-building ropes courses in New England. In the summer months more than 900 children, ages 4-15, receive a “world of good” through our 16 separate Day Camp programs. They develop a sense of self-worth, make new friends, and grow in a safe, healthy and supportive environment. During the school year we offer a before and after school program serving children in Kindergarten through 6th grade.
