Middlebury is an independent, residential, liberal arts college with 2,400 students and a distinctly international character. Students and faculty come from approximately 70 foreign countries, and a significant number of students leave campus to study abroad every year. Our 350-acre main campus offers spectacular views of Vermont’s Green Mountains to the east and New York’s Adirondack Mountains to the west. Middlebury is nationally recognized for its leadership in a number of academic areas, including language study and instruction, environmental studies, literary studies, and the sciences. Despite rigorous academic demands, our students are well-rounded and seek a wide variety of experiences.
