The mission of Nature’s Classroom is to provide a supplement to classroom education with dynamic, hands-on learning in the natural world so that children can learn about the interdependency of humans and the environment in which they live; at the same time reinforcing a sense of community and self-esteem.
Nature’s Classroom provides this opportunity for effective out-of-classroom learning experiences at Pilgrim Hills Camp, Brinkhaven, Ohio, and Templed Hills Camp, Bellville, Ohio.
The Nature’s Classroom faculty is composed of professional outdoor educators who are not only college graduates but also are trained in first aid and CPR by the Red Cross.
The instructors’ degrees range from Education to Wildlife Biology and everything in between. Although their degrees and backgrounds are diverse, they all have one thing in common: an insatiable commitment to educating young people.
