Located in the beautiful Mohican region of central Ohio, Nuhop began in 1974 as a summer camp for children with learning disabilities. For the last 45 years Nuhop has grown and evolved to become one of Ohio’s premier experiential education facilities. Our summer camp still provides hundreds of youth each year with a safe space to experience social and emotional growth. We offer team and organizational development services that give groups of all types and sizes, from middle school-aged future leaders to international management teams, the tools they need to meet the challenges of the day and to succeed as both a team and as a collection of individual members. Our Outdoor Education program began soon after that first summer of 1974 and today serves thousands of elementary and middle school students from across Ohio and the Great Lakes region. Nuhop’s background and educational philosophy produces a uniquely balanced approach, using different ideas from experiential, outdoor, adventure and environmental education theories. Our focus with the OE program is to facilitate a deeper connection within each individual, among peers, within their community and as a part of the natural world.
