Nuhop, founded in 1974, is a multi-faceted organization that is a regional leader in experiential education.
Nuhop was founded as a residential summer camp program for children with special needs including but not limited to: learning disabilities, attention deficit disorders, ASD, behavioral challenges and other unique nuances. Nuhop has evolved over 40 years and has increased its experiential reach to include programming in educational, organizational and corporate environments.
Nuhop strikes a intentional balance between adventure, outdoor and experiential education programming in its Residential Outdoor Education Sessions. Sessions are typically provided for students in grades 5 – 7. Each session is specially crafted based on each school districts needs and many programs are aligned with the Common Core.
Nuhop’s challenge course programming includes ground level initiative exercises, low ropes challenges and high course elements. High Course elements include: a 32 foot climbing wall , a 9 element high ropes course, a giant swing and a panther pole. Challenge course programming is often included in Outdoor Education Sessions and team building programming as appropriate.
Nuhop spends focused time and energy on developing new and innovative team building and team development curriculum that is utilized in Nuhop’s team building and organizational development programs. Nuhop utilizes specific needs assessments to ensure that curriculum developed for its clients achieves the desired results of each group being served.
Nuhop serves the following educational sectors through our team building programs: middle school, high school and college aged students. Groups may include but are not limited to: Leadership Teams, Athletic Teams, Student Ambassadors, RA’s and Whole Schools. Nuhop also trains teachers in professional development programs.
Nuhop executes professional corporate and organizational experiential programming throughout the United States. Nuhop’s Team Development Programming for this sector is uniquely customized and designed for the adult learner. Nuhop’s corporate and organizational trainings often teeter into organizational development learning theory with an experiential approach.
