Old Oak Ranch offers a customizable outdoor education program for grades 4-12. Educators can choose a day visit or stay overnight with our 2, 3, or 4-day programs. Our aim is to help students gain a greater understanding of the world around them through hands-on lessons, activities, and experiments. We believe that students need to experience their education hands-on. Through this type of learning, we know that conceptual understanding becomes deeper, confidence is strengthened and curiosity is encouraged! Old Oak Ranch offers two customizable educational camps.

Adventure Science Camp is a thrilling adventure into the wilderness, complete with labs, games, exploration and more! Teachers can choose from our Build Your Camp Module to select activities and labs that are suited for their students and lessons plans. Popular activities and labs include the Egg Drop Rescue Mission Lab, Time to Slime, Every Tree For Itself, Rock Climbing, Swimming, Low Ropes Team Building and more! We pair your selections with engaging forestry activities and labs that immerse students in the wonderful world of science!

Gold Camp gives your students the opportunity to Join our pioneers, prospectors, and miners on their journey westward to find gold. If you are lucky, you might just strike it rich yourself!  Get ready for a great adventure through one of the most exciting events in American History – the California Gold Rush! Students are immersed in a timeless adventure as they are guided into our authentic mining area and taught how to work our early mining machine replicas! These replicas include The Long Tom, The Cradle, and the Arrastra. Every student is given the opportunity to find real gold while panning in our creek!
