The Penn 4-H Educational Center provides Environmental Education and Life Skill Development programs to school groups, grades 3rd-8th, in the Spring & Fall seasons. We utilize our 250 acres of forests, fields, streams and lakes to teach outdoor, hands-on science & living history in the Environmental Education Program. We utilize a large number of challenge course elements, both team challenges and high ropes, along with canoeing & climbing, in the Soaring Thru Spaces Program, aimed at teaching students many of the “life skills” that are left out of regular classroom instruction, such as leadership, communication, empathy, etc.
The Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Educational Center also provides a traditional summer camp experience with swimming, horses, archery, canoeing, environmental exploration, climbing, etc.
Training sessions are also held occasionally, from Project Wet, Project Wild & Project Learning Tree and other educator’s workshops, to trainings for outdoor professionals, such as Wilderness First Responder.
