Project U.S.E. is a private, nonprofit education organization with a focus on developing character, building community, enhancing traditional school curriculum, and connecting with the natural world. Founded in 1970, we work with almost 3,000 young people and adults annually from all over New Jersey and the northeast. We provide experiential education programs to public and private schools, state and municipal agencies, community groups and corporations.
The Wildcat Program provides single- and multi-day adventure-based wilderness programs, with an emphasis on character development. Activities include rock climbs, low & high ropes courses, canoeing, backcountry camping, and expedition travel on courses. The Wildcat Mountain Wilderness Center, located in northern New Jersey, is a 50,000 acre wilderness area owned by Project U.S.E. Programs take place mostly in New Jersey, but longer trips travel to New England, West Virginia and other locations.
