Rogers High School Outdoor Education

Updated: March 4, 2003

Environmental/Recreational/Community Service class at Rogers High School. The students receive a half credit of Ecology and a half credit of P.E. The students are in charge of their water quality team and recycling team. Our recycling program is for the largest high school in the state and our water quality data is reported to the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. Enrollment has quadrupled and the community is getting involved. With so much interest, we have begun an outdoor Club with after-school clinics and weekend expeditions in the beautiful Ozark Mountains. The first club meeting had over 350 students in attendance. We are very excited about the growth of this course and its possibilities. I am currently working on state approval from the State Board of Education.
