Tall Timber Ranch is owned by the Presbyterian Church (USA)and is located in the heart of Washington’s Cascade mountains near Lake Wenatchee, off of state Highway 2. The nearest town is Leavenworth, Washington’s premiere tourist town and a renowned rock climbing area. The Steven’s Pass ski area is 40 minutes away, and wilderness activities abound. Tall Timber sits on 170 acres bordering the Glacier Peak Wilderness Area. Tucked between the White and Napeequa rivers, towering peaks rise 5000 vertical feet on all sides for a stunning amphitheater-like setting and magnificent views. Meadows, marsh, riverfront and groves of Cedar and fir provide a unique variety of environments. It is a spot of remarkable beauty. Seattle is 2 hours to the west and Wenatchee is 1 hour east. Tall Timber operates on a year round basis. During the summer we run a full youth/family program for about 1000 campers. It’s purpose is Christian education and growth. Activities emphasize our wilderness setting: rock climbing, canoeing, high and low ropes, rock wall, mountain biking, along with nature studies, crafts etc. During the spring and fall we host local school districts for outdoor ed. camps. Weekends are filled with mostly church retreats. Most of these groups utilize our adventure activities. In winter, we can get from 5-10 feet of snow. Retreat events continue with ski and snowshoe rental, a tube run, snow decks etc. We also host a college class in January. Year round staff include a Director couple going on their 24th year at TTR, Property Manager, Assistant Property Manager, Program Director, and secretary. Part time locals are hired hourly to assist as needed, and about 20 college age summer staff positions are available. For most staff positions, housing and utilities are provided on site. Food is provided when we cook for groups, and health insurance is provided. Children and pets are welcome, however housing units are small and are better suited for singles or couples. We seek staff who exhibit these qualities: a mature, self-motivated Christian faith, a love for Christian Camping and related lifestyle, an ability to live in and handle snow, a desire to serve others, an outgoing and people-oriented personality, a commitment to good communication with other staff, and specific job-related skills.
