Trailmark is an adventure travel & community service program for campers with 15-21 day trips in New England, Colorado and the Northern Rockies. Activities range from service programs to rock climbing, mountaing biking, backpacking and white water rafting. There is also canoeing, kayaking, sailing and horsepacking. Co-ed groups of 12-16 campers and 3 leaders travel by van and camp in both public and private campsites. Leaders are responsible for following an itinerary, juggling logistics, group dynamics and safety while insuring the emotional and physical well being of participants. Professional guides instruct technical activities. Leaders assist in technical instruction but also work to foster a community based on cooperation, communication and respect. Leaders must be at least 21 years old, a great sense of humor and an immense LOVE for working with teens in the outdoors. Trailmark provides room, board and a competitive salary during training, while in the field and in between trips. Gear discounts and internships are also available. Salary: DOE.
