The University of Central Florida, located approximately 15 miles east of downtown Orlando, is one of the most dynamic and diverse universities in the country. UCF was recently named as U.S. News and World Report’s 15 most innovative schools in the country among the likes of Harvard, MIT and Stanford. UCF’s 1,415-acre main campus provides modern facilities and natural resources, with 600 acres of lakes, woods and an arboretum. UCF has 12 colleges, including the newly established College of Medicine. More than 63,000 students attend classes on UCF’s main campus and its 10 regional campuses located throughout Central Florida. The 10,000-seat UCF Arena and a 45,000-seat on-campus football stadium were opened in Fall 2007 and host UCF’s thriving athletic teams, which compete in the American Athletic Conference. The 149,000-square-foot Recreation and Wellness Center, which opened in 2002 and was recently expanded in 2011 comes complete with a three-story climbing tower, an indoor track, six multipurpose courts, two pools and a wide variety of fitness equipment and classes. The 8,700-square-foot RWC @ Knights Plaza satellite facility opened in January 2013 and features strength, cardio and mind-body areas to serve the fitness program.
