Hoofers is one of the oldest and largest collegiate outdoor programs in the United States. The Outdoor Program Office supports Hoofers, a group of seven outdoor clubs including hang gliding, mountaineering, outing, horseback riding, sailing, scuba, and ski & snowboarding. Hoofers and the Outdoor Program Office are a part of the Wisconsin Union, the University’s Division of Social Education. The Union’s mission is to provide an extensive variety of programs and services for the members of the University community and to complement the classroom experience with out-of-class learning opportunities. The Union offers recreational, social, and educational opportunities and a variety of services and facilities for students, faculty, staff, and community members.
