World Challenge Expeditions

Updated: July 17, 2006

Who are World Challenge Expeditions (WCE)?
WCE has been operating for 18 years. In that time, it has sent over 30,000 Challengers from over 800 schools to approximately 35 destinations around the world, primarily South America, Africa and SE Asia. This year alone 260 expeditions and over 3,000 students departed on expeditions around the world.

The US office was established in January 2001 and operates from Cambridge, MA and has grown to work with over 30 schools in New England.

What is a Team Challenge?
Team Challenge is the finest leadership program currently being offered to High Schools. Through active participation, high school students are able to experience a unique journey which develops life skills such as leadership, teamwork, planning & organizing, decision-making and financial management. The program culminates in a 4-week long expedition to developing countries such as Peru, Costa Rica, South Africa and Thailand.

The program is delivered over 16-18 months. As an extra curricular activity it compliments a student?s academic development, without encroaching on a school?s demanding schedule. WCE empowers students to take on true responsibility, fosters character within a controlled environment of adventure and develops leadership skills and civic responsibility within young people to a remarkable degree. It is a program which will have a significant impact on their lives and future opportunities.
