YMCA Camp Copneconic is a year round camp and conference center nestled on 700 acres including woods, fields and our own Lake Copneconic. Our Outdoor Education Program operates during the weekdays from September through June and is called Project EARTH. EARTH stands for: Environmental Discovery, Adventure and Cooperative Learning, Recreational Fun, Touching Nature and Historical and Cultural Lessons. Schools that come to camp for Project EARTH stay anywhere from a day to 5 days and choose their curriculum from the five categories. Class offerings include: Double Decker High Ropes Course, Low Ropes Course, Zip Lines, Giant Swing, Stream Study, Reptiles & Amphibians, Food Chain/Web, Canoeing, Tandem Kayaking, Archery, Pioneer Crafts and much more. On the weekends we serve many types of group retreats ranging from girl scouts and youth groups to adult retreats. In the summer we operate week long resident camps, teen travel camps, horseback camps and day camp. We also partner with organizations to help provide summer camp experiences for children with special needs. Some organizations we partner with include: The American Diabetes Association, The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, National Kidney Foundation, Camp Quality – A Camp for Children Living with Cancer and many more.
