“Feel the fear and do it anyway.” That’s the motto fifty-five-year-old Heli Murray teaches, and practices, as a birth doula and endurance athlete. Parallel to navigating motherhood, divorce, menopause and grandmotherhood, the ocean has been Heli’s sanctuary and outlet for expanding her own edges. Featuring Heli Murray Heli Murray is a self-professed middle aged beach bum with two Masters degrees. In addition to her work as a lifeguard, Heli is an endurance athlete, therapist, birth educator and apnea instructor. She’s a mother, grandmother, and pillar of Byron Bay’s ocean community.
