Crossings is a six week wilderness expedition for young men and women aged 13 to 18. The group completes both a canoeing and mountaineering expedition under the supervision of qualified leaders. The wilderness trips are simply the backdrop for a program of intense personal development. The trips are physically and mentally demanding and there are many expectations placed on the students in order to meet the stringent graduation requirements.
Alaska Crossings is part of Wrangell Community Services (www.wrangellservices.org), a not for profit organization that provides physical and mental health services to the community of Wrangell and other small communities in South East Alaska. In addition to the Crossings Wilderness Expeditions for Youth program, Alaska Crossings also provides educational programs for native youth and youth at risk as part of our FLOAT School Programming.
