Alaska Wildland Adventures

Updated: December 27, 2004

Alaska Wildland Adventures started 29 years ago with the goal of sharing the wilderness and Alaska’s wildlife with small groups of people who seek a high quality, true Alaska adventure: People who wish to experience Alaska as a spirited traveler, not a tourist. Today, we are proud to continue this tradition as Alaska’s leader in wilderness lodge based Alaska travel, tours, and adventure.
Alaska Wildland Adventures is committed to the values of Ecotourism and providing our guests with a high quality, memorable experience with wild Alaska.

Alaska Wildland Adventures offers Alaska summer jobs on the Kenai Peninsula and in Denali National Park. These seasonal jobs are based on Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula and include positions that require skills and experience in the following fields: natural history interpretation; guiding; outdoor leadership and recreation; fish guiding; rafting; maintenance; and/or hospitality.

Employment for these seasonal jobs runs from mid-May through mid-September. However, the dates
of employment vary slightly with each location. Some of the summer jobs may have flexible start and end dates, but applicants who are available for a full season of summer employment are preferred (May 15 to Sept. 15).

We operate 6-12 day natural history safaris for adults and families, backcountry lodge packages or accommodations for independent travelers, Kenai River Sportfishing Lodge packages, and rafting and fishing daytrips on the Upper Kenai River. We encourage all potential applicants to review our guiding principles before applying.

Alaska Wildland Adventures operates the following lodges:

Kenai Riverside Lodge: is the home base of Alaska Wildland Adventures’ summer operations. It is near the town of Cooper Landing (100 miles south of Anchorage), along the Kenai River. Our rafting trips, fishing lodge, and natural history safaris all operate at this location.

Kenai Backcountry Lodge: is a small and remote wilderness lodge located within the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. It’s only accessible by boat and hosts a maximum of eighteen guests at a time. Many of Alaska Wildland Adventures’ natural history safaris spend 2 nights at this lodge.
