The forests and wetlands of Mikell provide a wonderful setting for environmental education. Annually, over one thousand students from both public and private schools spend one to several days with our professional educator/naturalists exploring the natural history of this unique patch of the southern Appalachians. Our student field studies include meals, lodging, instruction, and the chance to explore yourself and the natural world around you. Our Nature Center houses a variety of exhibits and local animals for closer observation. We invite adult groups as well to join us for a bird walk, a stream study, or any of our programs during your weekend visits to Mikell.
