William & Mary (W&M) the second oldest institution of higher education in the nation, but is also a cutting-edge research university. As a “Public Ivy” — one of only eight in the nation — W&M offers a world-class education at an exceptional value. Chartered in 1693, William & Mary is best known for it’s rigorous liberal arts curriculum and dedicated and engaged professors. Our students are nothing short of exceptional; they are scholars, athletes, activists, musicians, world travelers and generous volunteers. Our campus, adjoining Colonial Williamsburg, is a masterwork of preservation and innovation. We serve 6,377 undergraduates and 2,450 graduate students. 77 percent of our freshmen are graduated in the top ten percent of their class.
In addition to academics, William & Mary is dedicated to the health and wellness of its students, faculty and staff. Campus Recreation is one of four Student Affairs Departments (the Counseling Center, Health Promotions and the Student Health Center being the other three) dedicated to providing opportunities to improve our community’s health and wellness.
Within Campus Recreation, the Tribe Adventure Program (TAP = Outdoor Recreation) has been designed to provide these opportunities through exceptional programing in unique settings. The Tribe Adventure Program includes an indoor climbing facility, the W&M Challenge Course, the Matoaka Boathouse, the Tribe Adventure Program Trips (2-3 events per week), and the Pathways Pre-orientation program.
