Cornell Abraxas’ Leadership Developement Program (LDP) is a 120 bed residential facility with a military model for males and females who are 1st and 2nd time offenders. “Cadets” may be on a one, four or six-month track in the program. Cadets go to school Monday through Friday year-round. Military aspects of the program include military uniforms, military drill and ceromony, company formations, marching and daily physical training. Cadets recieve individual and group counseling services, family counseling and attend nightly group educational seminars. The clinical program is based on the “Six Steps of Intervention.” Cadets engage in a variety of activities, including team-builders, hiking, camping, bouldering, rock climbing, rappelling, and high and low ropes course.
