At the Glen Helen Outdoor Education Center, our mission is to provide science-based experiential learning in the outdoors while fostering respect for the natural environment and empowering people to act in its interest. Since 1956, we have been dedicated to providing programs for both children and adults that seek to develop their appreciation of the natural world and an awareness of environmental problems along with the ecological principles that influence them. We are committed to helping students to develop improved self-concepts and to refine their interpersonal relationship skills.
Utilizing the 1000 acre Glen Helen Nature Preserve, the Outdoor Education Center operates three main programs every year: residential Outdoor School, summer Ecocamp, and our Naturalist Training Internship. Through these programs, we strive to educate future generations on the importance of ecological preservation and sustainability.
