Midcoast Conservancy seeks to protect critically important natural resources, improve the quality of life for residents of Midcoast Maine, and provide healthy outdoor adventure and learning programs for youth, adults of all ages, and families. Midcoast Conservancy was formed from merger of four conservation organizations in January, 2016.
Our focus area stretches from Montville to Newcastle to Westport Island, and includes the Damariscotta Lake watershed and the Sheepscot River watershed, along with their many tributaries.
We strive to develop deeper connections to the geography and communities we serve. Our founding organizations bring more than 125 years of conservation experience and, with eight full-time staff members, we are equipped with the human resources to protect land, clean water, and connect with more people in more ways.
