Outdoor Adventure Center – US Navy MWR

Updated: January 6, 2003

Welcome to the Outdoor Adventure Center (OAC) where you can step into our center and step out into Adventure! As the home site for the Outdoor Recreation Program (ORP), the OAC is working hard to bring outdoor adventure to our sailors and their families in the form of rental equipment, retail items, trips and workshops, our volunteer program, portable climbing wall, and Leadership Education And Development (LEAD) program. The OAC travels to really exciting destinations such as Joshua Tree National Park, Colorado River, Yosemite National Park, Kern River, and much more! The OAC also finds adventure in and around San Diego through snorkeling with the Leopard sharks in La Jolla and mountain biking through the Laguna Mountains. The OAC is working hard to expand our inventory to meet our patrons needs and this past fall completed its ski/snowboard program.

The ORP and OAC are made up of six core programs: Rentals, Resale, LEAD (leadership/teambuilding), Trips & Workshops, Climbing Wall, and Volunteer Program. A relatively new program, the OAC and ORP is working hard to expand to meet the needs of its very diverse population. Situated in Souther California, this program has the opportunity to offer patrons and staff alike a remarkable experience in some of the most exciting destinations in the US.
