Pine Lake Challenge Course and Adventure Programming

WHAT WE ARE:
Pine Lake Challenge Course is a community based program, recipient of the Project Adventure Model Program Award. We are part Bristol Youth Services, a city agency.
The course is located on 25 secluded acres,easily accessable from Interstate 84 in central CT. We offer over 35 different adventure based elements constucted to meet current industry standards.

WHO WE SERVICE:
The following groups have utilized PLCC services and programs.
public & private school systems
church groups & civic organizations
youth and family counseling services
community based organizations
national and local corporations
college; sports, social, and educational groups
local municipalities teacher and department groups

SERVICES OFFERED:
The Pine Lake staff will help you design a program to meet your group’s needs either on-site at Pine Lake or off-site at a location convenient to your organization.

QUALITY ASSURANCE:
PLCC is proactive in meeting current trends and safety standards in the field of adventure education and experiential education.
The program site as well as all equipment, elements and procedures are inspected annually by Northeast Adventure Project Adventure or High 5. In 2001 we were accredited by PA.

Staffing:
Our staff of facilitators has extensive experience, both personal and proffesional, in many adventure activities, as well as trainings in current standards in the field of adventure education.

WHY Adventure Education?
Adventure activities help groups and individuals:

What is Adventure-based Education?
It is the purposeful planning and implementation of challenging activities which involve an educational process leading to positive relationships and productive team work.
A sense of accomplishment and success is achieved through co-operative games, group initialtives, climbing activities, and other adventure techniques. The proces of learning to trust, communicate with, and listen to each other developes as participants plan and stratigize together. Individuals develope a sense of belonging and purpose, while the group rises to the challenge is the spirit of teamwork.

The Pine Lake Challenge Program will remain with participants forever.
