Pioneer Centre is a Christian Activity Centre in England serving school groups, churches, youth groups, corporate training groups, youth at risk, and special needs groups. We provide residential facilities for up to 300 guests, and a selection of 25 different outdoor sports/teambuilding challenges to choose from. A large portion of our staff are international volunteers from all over the world, which adds a unique dimension to our centre. The Activity Team are provided with an intense in-house training program along with gaining a few national governing body qualifications. When finished with their training, they are able to act as lead or secondary instructors on all the activity sessions provided at Pioneer. Sessions include roped activities such as zip wire, climbing and abseiling, high ropes courses. Also team building sessions such as initiative games, low ropes courses, orienteering, and raft/bridge building. We also offer some unique sessions such as circus skills, archery, fencing, guided walks, and ice cream challenge. While not an evangelical centre, our staff do commit to a set of Christian morals and are expected to serve the guests, and each other, with them in mind. Guests typically stay for a weekend, a whole week, or a half week. Guest groups choose from 3-4 sessions each day, and often an evening session as well. The activity staff are responsible for staffing all those sessions, adapting them as needed to provide the best session based on the needs of the group.
