Stone Environmental School

Updated: February 9, 2005

The Stone family of schools has been providing week long residential environmental education programs to school groups from elementary and middle schools all across New England since 1958. For most of the 2500 students that attend each year, their experience at Stone’s facilities in the Mount Washington Valley area of the White Mountains of New Hampshire lives on as a favorite memory of their school years.
A staff of ten instructors teach field study lessons in forest and wetland ecology, wildlife habitats, natural history, and more. Lessons are taught in the morning, afternoon, and early evening blocks.
Students and staff eat meals in the dining hall; Students are housed in dormotories, very comfortable staff housing is provided in separate facilities.
Programming is offered in two seasonal sessions:
spring season is mid-March through mid-June
fall season is from mid September through to Thanksgiving in late November.
