The University of Alabama, the state of Alabama’s oldest public university, is a senior comprehensive doctoral-level institution. The University was established by constitutional provision under statutory mandates and authorizations. Its mission is to advance the intellectual and social condition of the people of the state through quality programs of teaching, research and service.

The Outdoor Recreation program at The University of Alabama offers gear/equipment rental, trip program, bike shop, and climbing walls for students, faculty, staff and community members to enjoy. We strive to provide opportunities for personal growth and to foster a greater appreciation for the outdoors. Our programs are primarily run by student employees and guides.  The Outdoor Recreation program has been around since the early 90’s.
